Publication and Methodological Disclosure Policy

This policy applies to reports, briefs, tables, visualizations, dashboards, public datasets, articles presenting original findings, methodology notes, and media material attributing a figure or result to the Center.

• Study name and implementing organization.
• Commissioner or funder and material role.
• Study population and geographic coverage.
• Data-collection dates.
• Collection mode and language.
• Sampling frame, selection, and size.
• Response or completion information as appropriate.
• Weights and adjustments.
• Question wording and order when findings are published.
• Uncertainty, limitations, and error sources.

• Participants and selection criteria.
• Number of interviews or groups and general dates and locations.
• Recruitment method and researcher role.
• Instrument, recording, and transcription approach.
• Coding and analysis method.
• Quotation selection and identity protection.
• Limits to generalization, saturation, and variation.

• Data sources, versions, and dates.
• Variable definitions and source compatibility.
• Cleaning, transformation, and derivation steps.
• Exclusions and missing values.
• Material software or algorithmic tools.
• Use rights and restrictions.
• Limits of source quality and fit to the question.

Material is clearly marked preliminary, under review, final, revised, or withdrawn. Publication date, latest update, and version are displayed. A materially different version is not silently substituted without a record or notice.

Even where format prevents full detail, source, fieldwork dates, population, size, and mode should be stated with a link to full methodology. Headlines and images must not exaggerate certainty.

• Title identifying indicator, population, and period.
• Analytical base and denominator.
• Units and rounding.
• Source and data date.
• Notes needed to understand categories or changes.
• Warnings for small cells or unstable values.
• No misleading visual scales.

Question wording, response options, order, and language are made available when poll results are published unless a legitimate right or risk prevents it. Changes between waves and their effect on comparison are disclosed.

Commissioners or funders and material roles are identified, and relationships capable of affecting interpretation are disclosed. A general independence statement does not replace specific disclosure where needed.

Where rights and protection allow, anonymized data, codebooks, instruments, code, or detailed tables may be released. Where access is restricted, the reason and request process are explained.

• Methodological, numerical, and editorial review.
• Privacy and rights review.
• Arabic-English consistency review.
• Final approval by an authorized person.
• Registration of version and published files.

Specific details may be withheld to protect participants, security, commissioner rights, or intellectual property. Nondisclosure is not used to conceal a material weakness or improper interference, and the reason is explained without creating new risk.

Authorship is assigned to those making a substantial intellectual contribution, participating in review, and accepting responsibility for the material. Technical, field, or administrative support may be acknowledged without honorary authorship, and external or institutional contributors are identified according to agreements and rights.

• Check alignment among question, method, and claim.
• Review figures, tables, and charts.
• Review limitations, language, and uncertainty.
• Review confidentiality and small-group protection.
• Proofread language, translation, titles, and links.
• Document approval and date of the version.

• Clear, nonmisleading title.
• Author or institutional author.
• Publication date, latest update, and version.
• Material type, topic, and geography.
• Fieldwork dates and study population.
• Persistent identifier or official link where available.
• Citation and reuse information.

Material may be subject to an agreed embargo or shared in advance for technical or media review. Recipients, purpose, and timing are defined. Selective advance access should not be given to a political or commercial party to exploit findings before public release without a disclosed basis.

A short output must not convert probability into certainty or separate a percentage from the question, population, and date. It should link to the official page and include minimum methodology and limitations that materially affect understanding.

Translation is checked for figures, terms, degree, and direction, and any controlling version is stated. “Associated with” must not become “causes,” and “a proportion of the sample” must not become “all Palestinians.”

• HTML page or text summary alongside complex files where feasible.
• Alternative text for images and charts.
• Readable and downloadable tables.
• Correct headings, structure, and language in PDF, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Display file type, size, and language.

The agreement defines organizations, logos, authorship, review, timing, and data. The Center does not publish material it lacks rights to publish, and a commissioner may not attribute independent analysis to the Center as its institutional position.

Errors, links, versions, and misattribution are monitored. Correction, replacement, or withdrawal notices are added to the official page and file where practical, and metadata and sitemaps are updated.
